Grandparents day was great!! The students really loved seeing their grandparents and taking them out to recess.
ELA-
I will be starting reading groups this week. Towards the end of the week look for reading bags to come home with many students. It is very important students read every night. I know schedules are busy. Believe me I know. I have a 7th grade volleyball player, all three of my children play soccer, and we have Wednesday and Sunday activities the only days we are not doing anything is Monday and Fridays. Students who read at home tend to move up levels a lot faster than those who do not read at home. Even if your child does not bring home a reading bag they still need to be reading something at home.
Math-
We will have a test on Monday over chapter 1. We will move on to chapter 2 number patterns. This would include even/odd, skip counting 2, 5, 10, and repeated addition.
Writing- We will finish up our Johnny Appleseed informative writing and more onto a persuasive paragraph about Fall.
Social Studies-
We will continue to learn about our government and the constitution. Tentatively looking at September 23 as being our 1st test in Social Studies.
Spelling-
Test are Wednesdays. We are on unit 4
Important Dates:
September 15 Gambino's night
September 23 1st quarter progress reports
September 28 Student Pictures (Monday)************************************
